Overnight in St Martin?
«

Someone recently posted an answer to this, but I can't find it. On my (too soon) return on Wednesday, I may get stuck in St Martin waiting for the snow to stop in NYC, and I've never overnighted there. Any suggestions for a single night stay?

Hi Bernie
We had good luck staying at Mary Boon's.
http://www.marysboon.com/
It is close to the airport, but we weren't bother by jet noise. I told the taxi driver that we were flying out in the morning, and he offered to come and pick us up. He was there right on time. The bar turns into a honor bar after the restaurant closes which was kind of neat. The only strange thing was in the morning they had some FM station from the U.S. playing in the restaurant in the morning.
Here is the topic that you will find the great suggestions forum members gave us.

Thanks, Steve -- I'm online with JetBlue right now seeing if I can postpone my departure. Boy, it'll really stink if I have to hang out here for another day or two...

Yeah,, Bernie ... life really stinks sometimes, but they are saying we could get a foot of snow (from northern NJ up to your way, we lucked out over the weekend, but it sounds pretty definite this time Tuesday late afternoon/evening into most of Wednesday -- if you could postpone it would sure beat the heck out of hanging around in airport terminals.
Washington DC area still had not reopened their airports or resumed train service before lunch today and some of those areas are expected to get some of this new snow as well. Sure flights all over the East Coast are barely back to normal from Saturday's snow.
Sounds like if you could pull off an extra day or two in SK it would be a win/win situation all around.

Never spent the night in St. Martin--but I can tell you the airports are having beaucoup problems getting this stuff ironed out. I was in Orlando for a quick trip to Disney and there are people who are still trying to get home from the last storm. Now I hear we're getting another 12 to 18 inches starting tomorrow night. I was standing near a guy at the ticket counter who was told his stand by status wasn't going to get him out today. Wild stuff.
