Vacation with Bernie - Winter 2010

Hey Bernie, We're on the way, we are at the Airport Hilton at JFK on the direct in the morning. The snow storm is a bear to the south, but they say that things should be ok in the morning. (we'll see) Sunday night is a big time at The Dock so I'll be there, I'll check in with Paula.

I shall try my utmost, Bernie. It made me laugh though. Even my butler cracked a smile as he was ironing my morning newspaper.

Bernie - so sorry I missed you guys today.... i slept in late, did laundry and got to school at about 3:00 am still here doing work, and ready to go back home to bed, my head hurts... will find you tomorrow night to say 'see ya later'.  Glad I got to see you yesterday though!

And the vacation goes on due to Mother Nature's fury ... that will give you time for more trip reports .. enjoy the reprieve of returning home.

You know you've been on island for a while when:

You know the location of every pothole between Frigate Bay and Cockleshell.

People assume you live here.

You know the two most beautiful men's rooms on island.  ( IMHO, Beach House and Formosa Gardens.)

You've played dominoes with locals and won a hand or two.

You start to prefer soca over reggae.

You've eaten lunch or dinner twice or more at the same restaurants.

You know the names of all the bartenders and servers on each shift at two or more beach bars.

You've seen, or at least think you've seen, the green flash.

People come up to you and say, "Good singin' at Karaoke!

An air conditioned restaurant feels cold when you first walk in.

LIAT got me to St Martin this morning, and the JetBlue flight back to NYC is delayed for only a half-hour.  Sooo, with the tiniest bit of luck I can catch an early flight tomorrow at the latest and be home in time for tomorrow's night's gig, AND I maybe win a bet...

Alan (despite his miserable cold) has just gone out to JFK to help shovel off the Jet Blue runway for your highly trumpeted return to JFK.  Steenkin blizzard or no, he's doing his part to try to get you back in time for your gig.  Hope it works out for you. Have a wonderful rest of your trip, a wonderful return home and a wonderful gig tomorrow night and maybe even win your wonderful bet!

I hope you passed the torch to Robin before you left.  By the beard of your grandfather's goat, you at least got off to a wonderful start this time!
