We haven't actually stayed at Alamandra, but met up with the owners a few times and spent a couple of very pleasant evenings with them at their villa.  Alamandra is really lovely, beautifully furnished, and has fabulous views.  There's nothing sinister about the lack of rentals so far - the owners themselves spent a lot of time there this summer, and I also understand that it was on a long-term rental to a friend for several months prior to that.

Turtle Beach is an amazing area to stay - we have at last got planning permission and hope to start building our own villa there soon.

We can meet on October 3rd at the Marriot (Time TBD we just need to get settled in our room first) and then head to the Shack if you and your wife would like.

How's that for a tentative plan??

It looks like a beautiful house.  The houses in that area are all relatively new.  If you're concerned about reviews, ask the owners for the e-mail addresses of former renters.  Write or ask to call them--I think you'll be able to get answers to your questions.

The house is in a gorgeous location.  It is near a couple of restaurants and beach bars but is a 15-20 minute drive to Frigate Bay, where there are other restaurants, and a bit further to a grocery store.  If you want a quiet serene location for vacation, it's perfect.  If you want more nightlife you may want to stay somewhere closer to the nighttime action.

You'll definitely want to rent a car.  Enjoy your trip to St. Kitts!
